An example of quality with the G3 System®

The challenges. The job was executed in an ecologically protected environment with frequent local inspections to guarantee the enforcement of the Brazilian environmental laws. The G3 System was approved for application on site after tested locally. The G3 System technology was selected due to the vicinity of a very sensitive ecological reserve and the environmental concerns involved. Project specifications required tight Quality Control demanding slurry to have less than 3% sand content, bearing in mind the required two to 3 m embedment socket in GNEISS (weathered rock). Initially contacted the project had 7 Static load test to be performed on production piles. The results: Pile sampling showed sand Contents of 0,5-1,0% much lower than the applicable specification. The contract involved 3 drilling rigs and 2 auxiliary cranes thus resulting in a daily average production of 15 piles with 2-3 meters sockets in Gneiss. Static load test showed perimeter skin friction absorbed 2 times the pile working load. Concrete overbreak was under 12%. Slurry direct discharged to environment was approved by Brazilian Environmental Agency after demonstrating there was no negative impact.
