Production in a confined space: The project included piles with 4 different diameters and depths of 40 meters. Immediate concrete pouring was possible upon pile excavation completion still ensuring pile integrity not wasting time with de-sanding related operations still yielding sand contents below 3% and slurry densities below 1.05 gr./cm3. The geology characterized by marine clays with SPT N blow ranging from 0-2 intercepted by 1-6 meter lenses of fine sand. Environmental issues: Throughout the whole duration of the project, it was of most importance to keep the job site clean, avoiding spillage to the streets as in most city sites. Slurry was disposed of to the city’s sewage system with IBAMA approval.
