Solving production problems with the G3 System

Solving production problems with the G3 System. The project included 382 piles with 1500mm diameter and depths ranging 37 meters. The project was initially planned for pile stabilization with bentonite, but the production delays associated with this method required the contractors to change to the G3 System®. Boring piles using bentonite in that specific geology suspended a great amount of particles that remained in suspension and forced to a d-sanding process of 6 to 7 hours per pile. The production rates were not in accordance to the project deadline. The use of PolyMud® with the application of Super DSand Cleaning® as a chemical d-sander reduced the average cleaning time per pile to a window of 15 minutes. Production rates increased to 3 piles per drilling rig per day. Environment; The concerns with the environment were also very high; some of the piles are placed only a few meters from the Bilbao river banks, with the water table constantly subject to tidal effect since the river connects with the ocean. Bentonite although approved for application had to be disposed along with the excavated wet spoils to certified landfills. The G3 system kept all spoils dry. The G3 system was approved by the local authorities for slurry disposal.
